The WISE Village is a supportive environment in which future engineers and scientists engage in focused inquiry within their disciplines and begin to develop the skills and talents necessary to become successful professionals. WISE provides tutoring three nights a week in Calculus, Physics, and Chemistry, the three core classes that the majority of the WISE women take. Tutoring is drop-in with no appointment necessary and conveniently takes place in the WISE conference room, just off the Lee Lobby. At the beginning of each semester, WISE hosts a Study-Group sign-up event to help women network and form study groups for the semester.
Academic enrichment activities are planned for WISE students throughout the academic year, including: speaker series, industry connections, K-12 outreach and community service opportunities, workshops, and more. All students are welcome to participate in these activities! WISE regularly partners with organizations and departments around campus to provide WISE Women with as many opportunities as possible. Faculty Connections are some of our favorite events; students are invited to a lunch and learn with a faculty member in the WISE Conference Room, providing a more intimate connection with campus and visiting faculty.
The WISE Village also has lounges that are equipped with computers and resource materials, for studying in groups and individually.
*Unless otherwise noted, all advising, tutoring, and programming is open to all residential students.
